Not all that are living along the riles are squatting. I have a children’s ministry in a village along the riles in Quezon Province, and this people have permits through the PNR to live and populate in the area. PNR actually asked them to stay there to avoid vandalism of the tracks.

Also I was just there this May 2010 and nothing has been done. I am concerned if the Mission House Children’s School will be affected. Its front lawn used for outside class is along the riles.

How can this sked happen when the railroad even just from Lucena are already used as road, the tracks gone.. and stations are already demolised and/or habitated.

I wonder how fast the train would be, and how modernized it looks

According to this the speed of the train would be like 70kph, that’s like 7hrs going to Manila from Legazpi.

I’m also wondering if how much does the fair cost, making it below 200php would be really beneficial, I’d go Legazpi to Manila everyday if it were cheap… XP

@Lola Felice, yes, I had doubts about this, since I can see some rail roads being covered already by cement and asphalt, just like what you see in Daraga…

Or is it that, the Daraga to Legazpi segment is going to be the last part to repair.

I was also surprised after I learned that the project would be finished this september! The latest news is Feb 12, 2009, so that’s kinda surprising… I wouldn’t believe it if the new was made a year ago, but this time, it’s just too surprising.

So any way, let’s just put our hopes in this, If it were true, we’d definitely benefit from this…

This would mean faster transportation compared with buses who would queue for passengers and have many stop overs in every municipalities/cities.

How could this happen? As far as I know the railway lines are being converted into roads. I should know because I’m one of those who live “along da riles”. I am not aware though if rehabilitation is already taking place in some areas.
