Rokyaw Ibalnong 2011 honors Bicolano achievers
For showing brilliance, extraordinary talent, exceptional achievement or rare courage in their respective fields of endeavor, eleven Bicolanos will receive the esteemed Rokyaw Ibalnong Awards. This year’s recipients include Venus Raj, restaurateur Noel Perdigon, Justice Sec. Leila de Lima, Senator Francis Escudero and more.
Ibalong Heroes: Bantong
People were asking who will fight against Rabot. So, Bantong, the third hero was called. He was a good friend of Handyong. He was ordered to kill the new monster in Ibalong. To do this, he took with him a thousand warriors to attack Rabot’s den.
Ibalong Heroes: Handyong
The second hero who came to the land of Ibalong was Handyong. Together with his men, he had to fight thousands of battles, and face many dangers to defeat the monsters. Under his leadership and his laws, slaves and masters were treated equally.This was a golden period in Ibalong.

A long, long time ago, there was a rich land called Ibalong. The hero Baltog, who came from Botavara of the brave clan of Lipod, came to this land when many monsters were still roaming in its very dark forests. He decided to stay and was the first to cultivate its field and to plant them with gabi.

Mutya ng Ibalong 2010 Winners
Ms. Angelica Romero of Naga City was chosen as the Mutya ng Ibalong 2010 at the grand beauty pageant held at the newly renovated Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Bitano, Legazpi City last October 29, 2010. Inah Guerrero of Daraga, Albay and Barbie Resoles of Naga City were adjudged 1st and 2nd runners-up, respectively.
