The City Government of Legazpi in cooperation with High 5 Cycling and Uragon Mountainbikers of Albay presents the first ever Legazpi All Mountain Challenge tomorrow October 23, 2010 on the lower slopes of Mayon. Get ready for a really challenging mountain biking experience over some of the roughest terrains including a rocky riverbed and Mayon Volcano’s lava channels. The biking course is 10 kilometers with numerous downhills and uphills, two loops and 98% off road. This all mountain biking race is open for all. On site registration is P200.
Mayon Trail Run, the most grueling 21K adventure run in the Philippines, returns for the third straight year this October 24, 2010 in Legazpi City. No other running event in the country crosses three mountains, goes through a WW2-era tunnel, crosses a river, climbs up 70-degree slopes, and five-storey high lava walls.
The City of Legazpi joins the entire nation in the annual celebration of the Development Policy Research Month. The month of September of every year is declared as Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) to provide a means of promoting and drawing nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in national development. The DPRM Month was established as per Malacañang Proclamation No. 247 dated September 02, 2002. The theme for this year’s DPRM Month is “Pananaliksik at Talakayan tungo sa Pag-ahon mula sa Kahirapan”.
