The PNR moves closer to a full operation of the famed Bicol Express line from Manila to Legazpi with the launch of new train trips to Ligao City and Travesia in Guinobatan.
The city government here will host the National Convention of the Philippine Councilor’s League at La Piazza Hotel & Convention Center on March 15 – 17 with some 3,000 councilors from all over the country expected to attend the said convention.
The Petron Blaze Boosters and Powerade Tigers will face off on March 10, 2012, 6PM at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation. The match is part of the ongoing 2011-2012 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Tickets are available at the City Treasurer’s office and Pacific Mall Legazpi.

Ibalong, the ancient folk-epic of Bicol, came to life in a dazzling and colorful annual street presentation held last Saturday, August 20, 2011 along Legazpi’s main thoroughfares.
Keshia Mae Dee bested 19 other beautiful Bicolanas to win the coveted Mutya ng Ibalong 2011 crown. Yvethe Marie Santiago of Daraga, Albay was chosen as first runner up and Lorencia Mae Brown of Masbate City is second runner-up.

The Province of Albay is the fastest rising tourist destination in Bicol region, data released by the Department of Tourism (DOT) here show. Foreign tourists in Albay grew by 17,347 or 51 percent against 11,609 or 18 percent for Camarines Sur. Albay now has 51,087 foreign tourists versus Camsur’s 74,771 despite a much more limited tourism budget. Notwithstanding weather disturbances, during first quarter of 2011, Albay submitted the highest total growth in tourists at 41 percent against Bicol at more than 16 percent and Camarines Sur at 17 percent.
