  2. indeed, misibis is comparable to boracay. it’s a puzzle to me though why misibis tv/paper ads do not include the island’s exact address. Besides incomplete, MISIBIS ALBAY is confusing. Albay can refer either to the province or to the district of Legazpi. never have i seen an ad saying Misibis is in Bacacay (for clarity).

hehe.. i just feel bitter about it!I am a proud bacacayano and i think credit must be given where it is due. hala, dagit na.. hehehe

Anyways…two thumbs up dex for a job well-done. It’s too noble of you promoting our province. I, too have a big heart for writing about our OWN place. Ours is a rich and beautiful province. ARIBBBA ALBAY!!C!

    (Chanting) I…..balong……. I….balong…..

    • Haha, you are right! Misibis is indeed in BACACAY – home of Albay’s best beaches. Hehe. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment! :D

    • This is indeed sad…. natural resources like the beaches are part of the public domain and should therefore be accessible to everybody. While the owners may have poured in millions in investment to develop the place, that does not give them the right to exclude especially those who live in the area.

This is happening however, in most areas in the Philippines. I learned from residents that there’s an exclusive resort in Caramoan, Cam. Sur, the surrounding waters of which could not be accessed by the residents. When we were touring the islands and I saw the resort, I asked that we skirt the island just so we could get a glimpse of the resort. But I was told that we could not do that because men in motorboats would meet us even before we could get near, in order to drive us away.

In Puerto Princesa, we were informed that the LGU has a local tourism program where the cost of going to the Underground River for city residents, is subsidized by the city. The reason behind this program, our guide said, is for the local residents to be informed about their city. In this way, they themselves would know how to promote it as a tourist destination.

I wish local governments which have tourist spots would have a local tourism program for its residents. This way, “walang magiging dayuhan sa sariling bayan”.

  4. I’m from Malobago,Brgy.Cagbulacao,Bacacay,Albay.Misibis is just a 20 min. boat ride from our place.Truly,Misibis became a World Class Resort, a Prime Tourist Destination in Albay and a Grand Place to be proud of,most especially by the Bacacayanos. But behind all the Progress and Admirations it achieved,Misibis totally became inaccessible to the lowly natives and residents of cagraray island and nearby areas.I’ts so disheartening that the place we once called Paradise,is now belonged to the Well-to-do and Rich Tourists.

  8. it is so flattering to hear to the different ads such as radio, tv, newspaper and etc. the gradual success and the affluent name of Misibis, yet so disgusting to note that mostly the town of Bacacay was not mentioned.. so hard to accept this present situation done by misibis management to the genuine Bacacayanos.. kindly correct this error as soon as you can make.. please give credit to the people of Bacacay and respect to the name of our Town. thanks

ADVENTURE LEGAZPI

Climbing Up to Mayon’s Base Camp

Climbing up to the summit of the Philippines’s most active volcano is truly an experience of a lifetime. Climbing up to the level close to the summit or an area commonly referred to as the knife’s edge is for the intermediate-expert climber or for one who is very fit. It normally takes two days and one night to reach the summit and it is essential that one have a competent and knowledgeable local guide.
