The City Government of Legazpi in cooperation with High 5 Cycling and Uragon Mountainbikers of Albay presents the first ever Legazpi All Mountain Challenge tomorrow October 23, 2010 on the lower slopes of Mayon. Get ready for a really challenging mountain biking experience over some of the roughest terrains including a rocky riverbed and Mayon Volcano’s lava channels. The biking course is 10 kilometers with numerous downhills and uphills, two loops and 98% off road. This all mountain biking race is open for all. On site registration is P200.
Mayon Trail Run, the most grueling 21K adventure run in the Philippines, returns for the third straight year this October 24, 2010 in Legazpi City. No other running event in the country crosses three mountains, goes through a WW2-era tunnel, crosses a river, climbs up 70-degree slopes, and five-storey high lava walls.

The Albay CIRCA (Center for Initiatives and Researche on Climate Adaptation) is holding the first ever Albay Eco Challenge. The event is designed to increase awareness on climate change and other important environmental issues.

This event is part of an awareness campaign against global warming. It was first held last October 2008 just in time for the annual Ibalong Festival in Legazpi City.
Climbing up to the summit of the Philippines’s most active volcano is truly an experience of a lifetime. Climbing up to the level close to the summit or an area commonly referred to as the knife’s edge is for the intermediate-expert climber or for one who is very fit. It normally takes two days and one night to reach the summit and it is essential that one have a competent and knowledgeable local guide.
