JCI Daraga, in partnership with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, will conduct the PDI Read-Along program on December 4, 2010 at Embarcadero de Legazpi. The PDI Read-Along program will be held simultaneously in 25 venues across the country from Batanes to Tawi-tawi. In Albay, PDI partners with JCI Daraga for the third time.
The Provincial Government of Albay announced Wednesday the awardees for Ten Outstanding Teachers of Albay (TOTAL), Three Outstanding Principals (TROPICAL), Student Excellence in Academics and Leadership (SEAL), and Kadunong LGU with Best Practices in Education, all under the 2010 Gawad sa Edukasyon.
The investment of the provincial government of Albay for this year’s education sector has reached P67.4 million, the highest budgetary allocation of the provincial government next to health, which it has properly divided among different projects. An alumnus of the Bicol University College of Business Economics and Management (CBEM) Department of Accountancy topped the October 2009 licensure examinations for Certified Public Accountants. Ivan Rhett Villacampa Macabeo of Guinobatan, Albay got a rating of 91.71% and became the exam topnotcher together with Romelyn Manset Carpio of De La Salle University – Lipa, who also garnered a rating of 91.71%.
The Aquinas University of Legazpi (AUL) has implemented a project dubbed “Urban Agriculture through the High-Value Commercial Crops Techno-Demo Farm” within its expansive campus here. The project features 60-square-meter greenhouse where vegetables highly sensitive to rain and changes in temperature like broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower and honeydew melon are being propagated.
