Overview
Albay Park and Wildlife, established in 1995, is a five-hectare zoo and recreational park located in Brgy. Bogtong, Legazpi City, along the Daraga-Legazpi Diversion Road. It is uniquely situated at the foot of the 156-meter Ligñon Hill, enhancing its allure as the only zoo in Albay Province. Part of a 17-hectare area earmarked for tourism by the provincial government, this park integrates the wonders of nature with recreational facilities, making it a must-visit destination for families and nature enthusiasts.

Opened to the public in 1995, Albay Park and Wildlife was developed to foster a connection between people and nature right in the heart of Legazpi City. This initiative by the provincial government aimed to preserve the region’s diverse flora and fauna while offering an accessible escape for both locals and tourists to engage with wildlife responsibly and enjoyably.

Albay Park and Wildlife is home to over 450 animals from almost 75 species, distributed among 68% avian, 18% mammals, and 14% reptiles. Notable residents include the Philippine Hawk Eagle, bleeding-heart pigeons, and the Philippine Deer, alongside exotic creatures like tigers, lions, and various reptiles. The park is also a botanical haven, with numerous species of trees and plants propagated within its boundaries.
